Maternity Leggings
I have gotten some questions lately about what my favorite maternity leggings are and why so I wanted to share them all here!
First up are Blanqi leggings. These are the only leggings I have/wear that are made specifially for maternity. A friend of mine sent me these when I was first pregnant and I know so many people love and rave about them! I didn’t really start wearing them until my third trimester. I have the size small.
Pros: They are really high waisted, thick and supportive which is exactly what I have needed from a pair of leggings in my third trimester. These stay put, they don’t slide down at all when you’re wearing them and you don’t have to adjust them. The material is thick, not see through, and really slimming! They make my legs/thighs look slimmer.
Cons: the material is pretty thick, so if that is something that bothers you, just be aware of that. I think I would have a hard time wearing these in the summer but have LOVED them this time of year!
Next up is the best bang for your buck! These Aerie leggings are under $30 and are a great dupe to the beloved Lululemon Align Legggings. I have worn these for working out almost every day of my pregnancy and then on the days that my Align leggings are dirty/in the wash. I also have these in a size small!
Pros: soft buttery material! maternity is thin so you don’t feel like you’re wearing anything! The fabric is stretchy and soft so they aren’t compressing on my belly.
Cons: They aren’t as forgiving/flattering as the lulu aligns. They sometimes create a camel toe situation lol but most of the time when I wear them it’s with a longer tshirt or sweater that covers that area so you can’t see it. They also slide down and don’t stay in place (which will happen with any non-maternity legging) but I just wear them under my belly and they are super comfy!
Last is my favorite pregnancy item. My Lululemon Align leggings. I saw a lot of people say to get the super high rise version for pregnancy because they stay up easier! I got them in the 28” length and had them hemmed to 25”. The only problem is I bought my normal size (size 4) and they are just a little bit too tight on my belly, so I haven’t been able to wear them. I know I’ll love them after I have the baby so just know that if you are getting them while you’re pregnant, go up 1-2 sizes.
Pros: so many pros for these leggings! They are flattering, compressing but also soft, and they feel like you aren’t wearing anything! I recommend them to everyone! (pregnant or not!) Everyone should have a pair of these in their closet.
Cons: these slide down as well with a bump and don’t stay in place as easily as the maternity leggings I mentioned. They have to be adjusted throughout the day but it doesn’t bother me too much because they are just so comfy!
