Wardrobe Essentials: Fall Bottoms
CASUAL
Light Wash Denim
I prefer for my light wash denim to be a vintage-style, like a high rise Levi or mom jean. Having a pair of jeans like this gives more variety and can drastically change an outfit to make it look more modern & on trend.
Option 1 (Probably one of my favorite purchases this year! I love these jeans- the color and distressing is perfect!)
Option 2 (These are really similar to the wedgie icon but are a lot cheaper.)
Dark Wash Denim
For dark wash jeans, I would go with something that is also high waisted (9” or 10” rise is perfect), skinny, and with little or no distressing.
Option 1 - I bought a pair of these 9” high-rise skinny jeans a couple years ago and they are one of my favorite purchases ever. They are so flattering and comfortable and have held up really well. They are definitely worth the price.
Option 4 (on sale!)
Black Jeans
I like having black jeans because they can look a little dressier than a dark or light wash jean, and they go with everything. The ones I have are cropped at the ankle, so they look really great with booties.
Option 1 - These are a great price and I love the minimal rips
Option 3 - I love these pants! I have them in both the distressed version and the classic version. I wear the ones without the rips to work a lot and they are perfect!
Jumpsuit (Casual)
Jumpsuits are some of my favorite items for when the weather starts cooling down! I have been really into jumpsuits lately; they are comfortable but look put together & cute. I would wear these with a jean jacket or duster over them, with a hat and some slides or sneakers! Here are a couple that I love:
Option 1 - This one could be dressy depending on what the fabric looks like in person. I ordered it last week, so I’m excited to get it and see if it’s as cute on.
Option 2 - I just ordered this in green! It has a ton of good reviews and is only $26!
Option 3 - I had to include these overalls because they are such a good price! I love wearing overalls in the fall with a knit sweater underneath and a pair of sneakers or loafers.
Option 4 - Another pair of black overalls I love!
Option 5- I just ordered this one as well! I’m obsessed with it!
Denim Skirt (not pictured)
I love wearing skirts this time of year! They pair so well with a big sweater and booties and are perfect for the days that are cool in the mornings but get to above 80 by noon (which has been the weather here this past week!) I love black denim skirts lately and especially any that have a raw hem- I love the look!
WORK WEAR
High Waisted Straight Leg Pants
If you dress up for work, you need a pair of pants like this. The biggest struggle with jobs that require a business casual or professional dress is finding good pants to wear that don’t look like a banana republic catalog from 2010. Casual clothes are just more “trendy” now, so it can be really hard to feel stylish and professional at the same time. Trust me, I’ve been there. Having a pair of pants like these will help! Try and look for something that is high waisted, has a straight leg and is cropped a little above the ankle. This will make your work outfits look more modern and less preppy! Here are a some great options:
Option 3 - These are a little pricier, but I cannot recommend them enough! Seriously the best dress pants out there! (update: found the BEST dupe to these pants and they are $29!!!! Here)
Wide Leg Crop Pants
Another fun pair of dress pants to have that aren’t traditional “slacks.” These are so flattering and look amazing with a variety of tops! I would these pants either with heels, a pair of loafers, or mules. The key to make sure your wide legs pants are work appropriate is to buy a pair with fabric that is a little bit dressier.
Option 1 , Option 2 (these are amazing!!), Option 3
Jumpsuit (dressy)
Option 1 - I am obsessed with this! I saw it in store and the fabric is so nice and would be so cute & easy to wear to work! I love the black but both of the prints are cute as well.
