Hi.

Welcome to my website & style guide.

Fall/Winter Style Guide: Bottoms

Here are all the bottoms that I can’t live without. Having each of these will add enough varitety into your closet to allow you to mix and match to get the most out of your wardrobe!

The Straight Vintage-Wash Jean:

I have all three pairs of these jeans and each is great for different reasons. I love my Levis for the quality and the way they fit to me like a glove, but the other two are great as well for a better price point. The second pair listed here I love because there isn’t much distressing, so I can wear these to work. The third pair is another one of my favorites because of the busted knees. These fit awesome as well! I have turned a lot of friends onto these jeans and they are under $40

The Dark Wash Skinny Jean

If you do not have a pair of high-waisted Madewell skinny jeans, you are definitely going to want to put them on your list. These are a must have! They are well worth the price point, as they last for years, make your butt look amazing, suck in your stomach, and slim your thighs. Seriously, what more could you ask for in a jean? I have tried other designer jeans, but I always come back to my Madewell jeans. They have the best fit.

I was recently out shopping with my mom who 1. hates to shop and 2. hates to spend money on clothes (sometimes I wonder if we are actually related lol). She was in desperate need of some new jeans, so I took her to Nordstrom and tried to get her to try on some of these jeans. She was hesitant because of the price point but I just told her to try them on and see what she thought. The second she put them on she was SOLD.

Here are a few of their styles that I love:

Black Jeans

These are a fall staple that speak for themselves! Black jeans go with everything and are so easy to dress up or down.

White Jeans

Okay, I know white jeans are traditionally a spring/summer item, but I honestly prefer the way they look with fall/winter outfits! It’s a much more unexpected look, and I love to play with the color to create a monochromatic outfit. If you own a lot of skinny jeans, I would recommend getting a white jean in a different silhouette, preferably a demi-boot or a straight-leg to mix it up! Here are some of my favorites:

Wide Leg Pants

I wear jeans like 80% of the time, but I love having unique items like this on the days that I want to mix it up and wear something more Bohemian. Here are some of my favorite wide leg pants:

Trousers

If you dress up for work, you need a pair of pants like this. The biggest struggle with jobs that require a business casual or professional dress is finding good pants to wear that don’t feel so “Banana Republic” circa 2010. Casual clothes are just more in style now, so it can be really hard to feel stylish and professional at the same time. Having cute pants like these will help! Try and look for something that is high waisted, has a straight leg and is cropped a little above the ankle. This will make your work outfits look more modern and less preppy. Here are a some great options:

Midi Skirts

I am obsessed with these knit midi skirts right now! They are so cute and more importantly, COMFY. I also love printed midi skirts that have a bias cut. Although those are more “trendy,” I still feel like you can get a lot of wear out of them for the next several seasons. Here are some of my favorites midi skirts that I’ll be wearing all fall and winter

Last but not least, leather LEGGINGS

These are such a fun item to have because they dress up a simple outfit like a sweatshirt and sneakers and make it look so much more fashion forward. These leather Spanx leggings get a ton of hype, but I personally love a pair I got at Nordstrom a couple years ago from Tinsel. They don’t sell them anymore but below is a similar pair. If leather leggings aren’t your thing, then a nice pair of regular black leggings are great as well. I can’t finish my style guide without sharing my all time favorite leggings EVER, my Lululemon Align leggings (this is another item that I forced my mom to buy herself and she has thanked me every day since). Seriously, they are so good.
