Fall/Winter Style Guide: Pants/Bottoms

Here are all the bottoms that I can’t live without. Having each of these will add enough varitety into your closet to allow you to mix and match to get the most out of your wardrobe!

Straight leg jean: I prefer a jean like this that has some distressing. I find myself leaning more towards a straight leg or mom jean fit than a skinny jean but both are great for different reasons. A pair of jeans like this makes any outfit look more effortless and chic. One of my favorite outfits for years has been a simple tee, a straight leg jean, and a pair of black booties. Classic and easy. Here are a few of my favorite vintage-style straight leg jeans

Skinny jean: If your straight leg jeans are a lighter wash, I would recommend getting a skinny jean thats a darker wash so that you have some variety. My favorite place to shop for skinny jeans is madewell. If you do not have a pair of high-waisted Madewell skinny jeans, you are definitely going to want to put them on your list. These are a must have! They are well worth the price point, as they last for years, make your butt look amazing, suck in your stomach, and slim your thighs. Seriously, what more could you ask for in a jean? I have tried other designer jeans, but I always come back to my Madewell jeans. They have the best fit. Here are some of my favorites!

White denim: Okay, I know white jeans are traditionally a spring/summer item, but I honestly prefer the way they look with fall/winter outfits! It’s a much more unexpected look, and I love to play with the color to create a monochromatic outfit. If you own a lot of skinny jeans, I would recommend getting a white jean in a different silhouette, preferably a demi-boot or a straight-leg to mix it up! Here are some of my favorites:

Black Denim: These are a fall staple that speak for themselves! Black jeans go with everything and are so easy to dress up or down. I have worn my black skinny jeans for years, but last year I got a pair of black jeans that had more of a mom jean fit and I love them! If you want to be more adventurous with your style, try a pair of black mom jeans. Here are some of my favorite black jeans:

Knit Skirt I am obsessed with these knit midi skirts for the fall and winter (especially being pregnant!) They are so cute and more importantly, comfy. I love wearing a knit skirt with a sweater in a similar color on top for a monochromatic outfit. Here are some of my favorites:

Leather Leggings: if you are like me, your dream fall outfit is an oversized sweater that feels like a blanket, and a pair of leggings that feel like you are wearing sweat pants. I pair of leather leggings elevates this look so much and makes it look like you really put some thought into your outfit. If leather leggings aren’t your thing, then a nice pair of regular black leggings are great as well. I can’t finish my style guide without sharing my all time favorite leggings EVER, my Lululemon Align leggings. Here are some of my favorite faux leather leggings:

Trousers: I am on such a plaid pant kick. I’ve seen them everywhere lately and they are the perfect solution to having to dress business-casual but also wanting to be on trend. Another style of trouser I love is a high waisted trouser with either a straight or wide leg. This is a more modern style that will make you feel on trend! Here are some of my favorite trousers:
