Fall/Winter Style Guide: Shoes
Since I wear a lot of basics within the same color scheme, it is so important to have a variety of styles of shoes. A different pair of shoes can completely transform an outfit, and make something either more dressy or more casual depending on which shoe you pair with it! If you start with these styles, you will find that most of these shoes can be worn with just about anything! I always try and mix price ranges in my wardrobe, but shoes are the number one thing I’m willing to splurge on. If a shoe is comfortable and made from quality materials (leather, suede, etc), then I know it’s something that I will wear frequently and be able to wear for multiple years.
Black Booties: probably the most classic item in my fall/winter wardrobe. I like something with a 2-3 inch heel that’s comfortable to wear all day, but gives you a little bit of height. I also think something with a pointed or almond toe is the most flattering and chic. Here are some of my favorite black booties.
Camel/Cognac Boots: This color of shoe goes with anything and is so versatile! I have been loving this color of bootie in a more western style boot, in either suede or leather. I personally love the look of these with an all black outfit. Here are some of my favorite camel boots.
Chelsea Booties: these are a classic item that you will get so much wear out of! The chelsea boots that I have and wear a ton are grey, and a grey or tan chelsea boot is essential to every wardrobe. They go so well with cropped denim, skirts, dresses, etc. Here are some of my current favorites.
Printed Booties: since I wear a lot of neutrals, a boot with a snakeskin print has really elevated my wardrobe! I feel like it adds just enough print to make an otherwise boring outfit look really put-together. My favorite way to wear these are with a pair of white jeans and a cream or beige sweater.
Neutral Mule: Another shoe I like to have in a print. (If you know me, it’s leopard/cheetah print) Again, so cute with a simple outfit of distressed denim and a neutral sweater. If animal print is not your thing, I included some other really cute neutral mules that aren’t printed.
White Sneakers: If you have followed me for a while, you know that this is probably my most-worn style of shoe year-round! A pair of simple white sneakers truly goes with anything and everything.
Black Mules: This is a must have item for me every fall and winter. I live in Oregon so I can get away with wearing these almost year-round. They are the perfect addition to every wardrobe but especially if you are someone that has to dress business casual for work. I feel like they are more modern and chic than a traditional loafer and look so great with trousers, jeans, and midi skirts and dresses. These amazon ones I linked are SO awesome. They are a perfect gucci princeton dupe and under $50.
Combat Boots: last but not least, my favorite pair of shoes to wear in the fall and winter! Again, if you follow my instagram, you know how much I wear and love these! And I love that so many of you have and love them now too! This is another pair of shoes that I feel like truly go with anything! I have worn them with jeans, dresses, skirts, leggings, biker shorts, and even sweats and they make everything look so put-together and cool. I especially love this style of dr. martens because the heel and platform on them makes them more feminine, which is why I think they are that much more versatile than traditional dr. martens. Here are some other combat boots I love as well!
